want a pallet of rock - alabaster or soapstone, although
preferably alabaster. We sculpt in a
private capacity and exhibit on a small scale. The color is immaterial, as long
as it is workable - white, grey, pink, mixture, whatever. We are in Victoria,

the rock from within Australia, however if this is impossible a source as close

Offer 11: There used to be a
West Australian company producing large lumps of dense and fairly pure talc and
stockpiling it for bulk export on some land at Geraldton. It is light
green and would probably be ideal for sculpting. There is also some soft
limestone from several locations not far from Perth and a tan-yellow limestone
made from tiny shells being quarried at Mt Gambier. The limestone might be
too soft if detail is required. We also have a fine siltstone that carves
well from central QLD and comes in small blocks. Pieces up to table-top
size are kiln-fired and hardened. There is some white marble available in
blocks from the Ulan quarry in central QLD and plenty of material in a variety
of colours from Chillagoe, north QLD.
I am very interested in these
various rocks. The talc from Geraldton is interesting and the tan-yellow
limestone, siltstone and marble from Qld. Are you a company that deals
with this, in which case how do we go about ordering? Please advise more
details please, e.g. cost, location, freight logistics, etc. Thank
