Stone Names: technical pumice variety unknown. Is denser than some, with thicker cell walls, for heavier-duty abrasive action. floats, but not for long, as absorbed water soon makes it heavier than water and then it "sinks like a stone."

Checklist of choices available: Two grades - select has most fine and even surface, consistant tone and pleasing shape. Economy is less-even surface, possible mineral coloring and possibly less countoured shape. Size range: by weight, .3 oz each to l2 oz. each. By size, roughly peanut size up to grapefruit size. Company Size: Very modest one-person home business. Annual sales $l,000 - 3,000/ yr. US. With current ready stock, could triple sales easily. Long-term production limited by how many pumice rocks are washed down at my gathering grounds on public lands, as I deal solely with naturally rounded rocks from this one volcanic mountain. Supply can be seasonal, but do have a dozen sizes in two grades. In a good year, can gather maybe a half ton of high quality pieces.

Facilities & Capabilities: I simply gather, float-test and rinse, sun-dry, grade, and store by weight catagories. No machines. Pumice is gathered on public lands where part- time creek washes pumice down with snowmelts and heavy rains.

History & Background: Been gathering since l993. Began home business wrapping and wholesaling sage smudge sticks (hence biz name) in l989 and branched into pumice . Cultivated one or two dozen phone-and-UPS buyers over years - mostly natural food stores and a small natural health and beauty aids chain.

Message to Readers: My market niche is supplying pumice rocks exactly the way nature made them - so many are ground-down and reformulated or shaped or somehow messed with. Mine are pure products of nature, each one unique. Have been geared towards natural food and beauty aid store buyers, who appreciate the stone being in its prestine condition and also that it comes a mountain many feel endeared to. However, willing to sell to anyone who wants this kind of pumice, for whatever reason (except maybe grinding to power, other than lowest grade). As a sole proprietor, I inspect and grade each piece myself. When at times it's a fine line between grades tend to error on downgrading than upgrading, to buyer's benefit.

Info you need: Need to know quantity and grade and how soon needed; also whether UPS delivers there (I live out in country with few easy shipping venues) Do offer select pumice in store-ready packaging, price determined on per-order basis (usually about 33% to 50% over bulk price).
